Budino |eclectics mix – 105 |

The first I’d heard of Valentina Budino  aka Budino was via mix posted on Test pressing last June. Ivan Berko wrote the ‘get to know’ article that accompanied it, he wrote…

“I am certain that Valentina is one of the best new DJs to come along in years. She absolutely stunned us in NYC when she played our party. Everyone from 22 years olds to 52 years olds were draw dropped. She is an actual DJ as one friend who grew up in the west coast psychedelic House scene in San Fran said. Her mixing ability and selection is bar none to her peers and then some. I’ve never met someone so young with such raw talent. The future is so bright for her”.

Va, was kind enough to anwser a few questions for us..

This is Va’s selection for us, it’s very special enjoy dudes x

eclec0100 | Ty | Take Me Back Mix | 06|05|18

Summer’s here so time to warm up – This mix recalls those recent summers past.

Originally from Manchester, Ty started out as just an avid collector firstly finding his feet as a kid in the 80’s before discovering house and early rave to hip hop and funk and so on and so on.

Music has given him the opportunity to play at various venues and festivals across the UK and the odd spot on pirate radio!

Before the disco revival, his love of disco led him to setting up and promoting the absurdly named and popular night Disco Magico Sexy Sexy Bang Bang!

You can catch him fortnightly Sundays on 1BTN.fm – No fixed genre or agenda. Expect anything from world music, house, disco, funk, and tropical with the odd pop gem thrown in.

Review : José Manuel – Human Behaviour. Drops 20th April on Clandestino. [Clan005]

For Clandestino’s fifth offering Berlin’s Italiano in residence José Manuel drops his unique strain of exotic club music; once again exploring deep, ritualistic and tribal influences to great dramatic effect. ‘Human Behaviour’ is a woozy nine minute opus.
Rich in atmospherics, chanting and ethnic flutes. Clandestino’s remix refines the track for the dance-floor, retaining the atmosphere and injecting a driving 303 line and jamming Afro keys.Upping the tempo on ‘Bangalore’ a great ethnic guitar hook drives along the groove while disorienting chants and tribal percussion flutter underneath.
Mushrooms Project turn out an essential blissful sundown version by extending out the pads and adding gentle warm keys
